Perinatal Emotional Support Planning
Everyone’s perinatal journey is unique, as no two people have walked the same path. I genuinely believe you deserve your needs to be affirmed, normalized, and respected. To honor this, Emotional Support Planning allows space to bear witness to what you uniquely need on your path.
Maybe you need support to feel grounded in your birth, with a desire to be present when you meet your child. Perhaps you are struggling to conceive, and you need to express to your doctors what you need to support you on this emotional walk. Maybe you are working on how to prioritize your needs and honor rest and healing postpartum. Perhaps you hold a story of termination and figuring out who may be the best to care for you. Maybe you want to start having a family and need a plan to feel safe navigating medical care.
Emotional Support Planning meets you where you are. Through open-ended questions and reflections, I help you discover your unique needs and how to voice this to others to get the support you deserve. I will listen, learn and explore with you in non-judgmental companionship. You are the expert on your feelings and needs.
Emotional Support Planning for Those Who Have Experienced Trauma
Through our collaborative work, you will explore what you need to feel seen, heard, and in control on your emotional path.
As a trauma-informed perinatal mental health clinician and educator, I will companion with you as your voice and your needs are brought to the forefront.
Through your words and your wisdom, an Emotional Support Plan is created that highlights what you need to feel supported, explores what you need from yourself and others to feel safe, and connects you to your inner strength and tools so that you can feel seen, heard and in control of your journey.
You need the space to reflect and process how you want your path to unfold before you
You have the right to have your voice heard and your needs met
How does it work?
Emotional Support Planning explores what you are bringing into this journey from your previous lived experience. I utilize questions and exercises that help you identify feelings and needs that are used to develop tools and strategies that you and your support people can utilize to help you feel seen, heard, and in control.
Safety and grounding are vitally important to this process. You are in control of what you share. I will always honor what you need and support you in navigating this process from a place of security and control. It is a confidential space, as I will only put what I have your permission to do into the plan.
This process usually happens in 3-5 sessions but can be flexed to meet your individualized needs. Sessions are 50 minutes long, and you will receive a draft write-up of your plan after each meeting.
The rate for a session is $125, which includes our meeting and plan development. A sliding scale is available for clients with financial needs. If you live in MA, insurance may be able to be utilized depending on your insurance provider.
